What type of ultrasound do I need for these exams?
A basic diagnostic ultrasound imaging machine with both a linear and convex transducer. The musculoskeletal exams of the superficial abdominal wall muscles are evaluated best with a linear transducer. The pelvic floor seen transabdominally is best visualised with the convex transducer. The basic adjustments you will make are adjusting the depth, gain; using a measurements tool; freezing and capturing an image and a way to download or print those images for documentation. Can I get continuing education credits for the core ultrasound certifications?
Our certification programs are new and we are working toward accreditation with ACCME. However, many specialties can still use the time they spend on certifying as part of their required continuing educaiton. Check with your proffessional licensing authority to determine how many credits you can claim.
